Shelton Firefighters Douse Bank Fire
No injuries were reported in the Tuesday fire on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton.
SHELTON, CT — It took 25 firefighters Tuesday to extinguish a fire at the Chase Bank and adjacent Pet Supplies Plus building in the 600 block of Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton, according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was called in at 4 p.m.
Firefighters saw smoke coming from the roof when they arrived, at which time they found a small fire in an air handling unit.

The blaze was quickly brought under control, but firefighters also used mechanical ventilation to clear the smoke from building and check for possible carbon monoxide gas.
The building had been evacuated, but people were able to go back inside just after 5 p.m.
