Shelton Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At House Under Renovation
The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. on Thursday.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton firefighters doused a blaze at a home under renovation Thursday morning on Mulberry Lane, according to fire officials.
No one was in the home when firefighters from the department's Huntington, White Hills and Echo Hose fire companies arrived at the scene at about 10:20 a.m.
"As fire apparatus arrived, a fire attack hose was deployed to the rear of the house and made entry where they found a large volume of fire in the kitchen and living room areas," officials said in a statement.

The fire burned through the kitchen floor, and had spread into the garage area, but firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.
Fire inspectors are investigating the cause of the fire, but a preliminary determination pegged the cause as sawdust and construction debris igniting, reports the Connecticut Post.
