Shelton High Football Coach Resigns After Facebook Post
The Facebook post contained slurs directed at two female celebrities.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton High School assistant football coach Mark Kovacs resigned after being placed on leave after a pictured containing racist and sexist slurs was posted to his Facebook page, according to multiple media reports.
Shelton Superintendent Chris Clouet said that Kovacs was suspended after school officials became aware of the post. Later that day he resigned, according to WTNH.
"After becoming aware of some social media postings that appeared to be filled with bias, we communicated with the coach that he was suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into those posts," Clouet said in a statement. "Later in the day the coach submitted his resignation. The Shelton Public Schools district is committed to being inclusive and supportive of all of our students and their families."
