Shelton Hires Ex-Southbury Admin As New Special Ed Director
William Roland reportedly will replace exiting director, Beth Smith, who is retiring.
SHELTON, CT — Shelton Public Schools has hired William Roland as the district's new director of special education and support services, replacing Beth Smith, who is retiring at the end of the month after a 35-year education career, reported the Shelton Herald.
Most recently, Roland was chair of the Special Education Department at Pomperaug High School in Southbury (Pomperaug Regional School District 15).
Prior to the Pomperaug district, Roland held special education and other administrative positions in New Haven and Hamden.
