Modern Plastics has switched to making personal protective equipment and hired about more workers to keep up with demand.
SHELTON, CT — Shelton manufacturer Modern Plastics has joined the fight against coronavirus by retrofitting its plant to produce personal protective equipment, including FDA approved face masks and plastic barriers for store clerks.
“Modern Plastics has been a Connecticut company since 1945, and we love the state of Connecticut. We are humbled and proud to be helping protect health care professionals and the public during this current COVID-19 crisis with our products and services,” said Bing J. Carbone, President of Modern Plastics.
The company ordinarily employs 17 people, but recently hired about 250 more workers to keep up with demand, said U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy.
