Shelton Police Continue Search for Armed Robber

The incident occurred on Bridgeport Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

SHELTON, CT — An armed thief made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and checks Wednesday afternoon during a robbery in Shelton, according to police.

The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Avalon Huntington condominium complex on Bridgeport Avenue.

"The victim reported that he was followed from a Bridgeport business to his residence by a gold Honda Odyssey," wrote Shelton Police Det. Christopher Nugent in a statement. "The victim reported that upon exiting his vehicle a Hispanic male jumped out of the rear of the minivan with a handgun demanding the victim’s money."

The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of money, the robber jumped back in the Honda and the vehicle fled the area.
