Shelton Restaurant to Host Star Chef Wednesday

Celebrity Chef Giada De Laurentiis will headline a Bridgeport Hospital benefit at Il Palio Nov. 6.

The Bridgeport Hospital Foundation presents “An Evening with Giada,” from 6:45-7:15 p.m. at Il Palio Restaurant, One Corporate Drive.

"Giada De Laurentiis, the Emmy award-winning star of Food Network’s Everyday Italian, Giada at Home and Giada in Paradise, will discuss the healthy recipes in her new book, Giada’s Feel Good Food: My Healthy Recipes and Secrets," said hospital spokesman John Cappiello.

"Guests will enjoy an hour of moderated conversation with Giada and sample some of her recipes, as prepared by Il Palio’s head chef, Margarita," he added.

Giada is also a judge on Food Network Star, a contributing correspondent for NBC’s Today Show and the author of six New York Times bestselling cookbooks.

She attended the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris and worked at Wolfgang Puck's Spago restaurant before starting her own catering company, GDL Foods. Born in Rome, she grew up in Los Angeles, where she now lives with her husband, Todd, and their daughter, Jade, Cappiello said.
