Shelton Settles Magnet School Lawsuit With Bridgeport: Report

Shelton Public Schools reportedly will pay Bridgeport more than $600,000.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton Public Schools will pay Bridgeport $652,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by Bridgeport over that city educating Shelton students in its magnet schools, reported the Shelton Herald.

The lawsuit was over past unpaid tuition costs that Bridgeport claimed Shelton owed, and initially, Bridgeport was seeking more than $850,000.

The Shelton Board of Education will pay $400,000 of the settlement and the City of Shelton will pay the other $252,000, according to the Herald.
