Shelton Woman Killed In Crash On I-95 In Fairfield

The 12:45 a.m. crash northbound involved a vehicle and a tractor trailer truck.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 26-year-old Shelton woman was killed early Friday when the vehicle she was driving was rear-ended by a tractor trailer truck on I-95 northbound in Fairfield, according to state police.

Cathi Anne Silva was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred between exits 18 and 19 near the border with Westport.

The crash occurred at about 12:45 a.m. The driver of the truck, 36-year-old Hialeah, Florida-resident Ernesto Gamboa Gorajuria, suffered minor injuries in the crash. He did not require treatment in a hospital.

Troopers discovered the crash after they initially were called to the scene on a report of tractor trailer truck on fire.

The state police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating the crash.
