Valley Community Foundation Awards Adam’s House Multi-Year Grant
Shelton Grief Center is One of Seven Valley Organizations to Receive 2021 Grant
June 17, 2021 - The Valley Community Foundation (VCF) has awarded Adam’s House a responsive multi-year grant in the amount of $71,000 over 3 years to provide general operating support for the Shelton-based grief education and peer support center. The grant was awarded through VCF's responsive grantmaking cycle, which is done with its partner in philanthropy, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (TCF).
Adam’s House serves bereaved children ages 5-18 and their caregivers, in the form of an 8-week peer support group called ‘Helping Hearts Heal’, which is offered free of charge for all Connecticut residents.
VCF’s annual Responsive Grants program is open to requests for organizational support and projects that serve Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Shelton, and/or Oxford. These grants are awarded to address a nonprofit’s operating, programmatic, or capacity building needs.
