Southbury based non-profit raises $55k for Grand Boulage, Haiti.

Southbury, Connecticut – On Friday, October 26, 2018, Seeds of Hope for Haiti, a Southbury based non-profit organization, hosted the annual Seeds of Hope Gala benefiting the villagers of Grand Boulage, Haiti. A total of 158 people attended the event, generating over $55,000 in proceeds. All proceeds from this event will help supplement food, education, and medical care for the villagers with a primary focus on developing a brick and mortar medical facility.

In 2017 Seeds of Hope for Haiti commissioned a Health Assessment that revealed the crucial need for maternal, infant, and nutritional care. While in previous years, Seeds of Hope assisted with the funding of a mobile medical clinic, the members of the organization knew the need for care continued to exceed the availability of medical services. During the event, Seeds of Hope announced their partnership with Medicines for Humanity, Food for the Poor, and the Ministry of Health for a three year project to phase in a permanent medical facility. Pe Roland Francoise, the pastor of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows in Grand Boulage attended the gala and weekend masses at Sacred Heart Church. He explained that because of the efforts of Seeds of Hope for Haiti; children are fed, teachers receive salaries, and the villagers receive health care.

Seeds of Hope is grateful for the continuous support of the community.
