It’s that time of year! For over 40 years the Southbury Needy Fund has been coordinating Christmas gifts for Southbury children. Last year, with your kind assistance, the Fund was able to coordinate presents for 150 children from 68 Southbury families in need. Presents included new clothing, winter jackets and boots as needed, toys, books, and school supplies. It is our hope that the program will be just as successful this year.

GROUPS CAN DO IT TOO!

Families, Churches, Schools, Organizations, Businesses, Scout Troops, Neighborhood Groups and others get together to sponsor children or families and purchase new clothing for them.

Just call (203) 264-8743 or email sbyneedy@gmail.com and we will provide the age of the child, gender, sizes, and other preferences.

It’s easy to do, and so rewarding!

The Southbury Needy Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, operates on a year-round basis helping Southbury residents when there are no other resources available. Since our inception, we have helped neighbors make ends meet during the holidays: providing clothing, books, and toys for children who would otherwise go without.

Throughout the year we also provide emergency financial assistance to families and individuals faced with utility shut-offs, unexpected medical or insurance bills, home repairs, and housing expenses. In addition, the Fund helps community children participate in school-sponsored trips, after-school care, and summer programs.

ALL of our work is done by volunteers -- both our year-round staff and our enthusiastic community helpers who make our Christmas drive a success every year.
