Crash Temporarily Closed I-84 In Southbury Tuesday: State Police

The overturn truck snarled traffic for hours on Tuesday.

SOUTHBURY, CT — An overturned truck on Interstate 84 near Exit 13 eastbound resulted in the temporary closure of the thruway for hours on Tuesday, according to Connecticut State Police.

No injuries were reported in the crash, which occurred at 7:15 a.m. State police said the truck's operator, Heriberto Martin-Cabrera, 58, of Trinity, North Carolina, lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete traffic barrier on the right, which caused the truck to overturn and block all eastbound travel lanes.

The truck's contents then spilled out on the road, which led to an exit sign being damaged, and the road being closed until just before 5 p.m., state police said.
