Starting MON. DEC. 2ND THROUGH DEC. 12TH you can still drop off an un-wrapped toy at LOCAL GOURMET to benefit the children on the Southbury Needy Fund Christmas list of over 155 Southbury children.

STARBUCKS of Southbury is also part of the spirit, sponsoring a new books drive for children of all ages. The drive is through December 13th. STARBUCKS is a strong supporter of the Southbury Needy Fund and we thank them for their help in making sure all the children on the list – from young children to teens get plenty of books this Christmas. The Needy Fund currently has 72 families and 155 children on our holiday list. Help fill STARBUCKS’ container with books.

The Southbury Needy Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, operates on a year-round basis helping Southbury residents when there are no other resources available. Since our inception, we have helped neighbors make ends meet during the holidays: providing clothing, books, and toys for children who would otherwise go without.

Throughout the year we also provide emergency financial assistance to families and individuals faced with utility shut-offs, unexpected medical or insurance bills, home repairs, and housing expenses. In addition, the Fund helps community children participate in school-sponsored trips, after-school care, and summer programs.
