Obit: Mary MacDonnell, 95, Of Southbury

Mary A. MacDonnell, 95, of Heritage Village died Thursday April 16, 2020 in her home after a brief illness. Miss MacDonnell was born January 16, 1925 in Hartford daughter of the late J. Frank and Anna (Bannon) Mac Donnell. She had worked as a school teacher; driving out to Montana by herself as a young woman for her first teaching job.

Years later she retired from the Stratford School system after working there for 29 years. Miss MacDonnell held a Master’s degree, loved horses and dogs; especially German Shepherds. She is survived by a cousin Joseph Bannon of Waterbury. Graveside services will be held in the St Joseph’s cemetery in Bristol, CT.
