Pomperaug High School Moves Up in Latest Field Hockey Poll

The Panthers advanced a spot in the most recent field hockey coaches poll.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Seeking its third straight Class L state championship, the field hockey team from Staples High School is taking its quest seriously, outscoring opponents 37-3 over the course of six season-opening wins and earning unanimous selection as top team in Connecticut in the weekly coaches poll.

The Wreckers received the top nod from all seven coaches voting in the most recent balloting. Cheshire was second, while Wilton wound up third.

Pomperaug moved up a spot to fourth in the most recent balloting.
