Pomperaug High School Standardized Test Results Revealed: Report

Students continue to excel in English and the language arts.

The SBAC, otherwise known as the Smarter Balanced Test, was taken by Pomperaug High School students for the first time with a variety of results.

Pomperaug High School students scored very high on the English or language arts portion of the test, in which 90 percent of students met or exceeded standards, according to a report by the Republican-American.

“We are and always will be the highest scoring school in the state of Connecticut,” said Pomperaug High School Principal Glenn Lungarini said via the Republican-American.

The math section was met with a lot of difficulty, which is the norm, said Richard Gusenburg Assistant Superintendent of Schools via the Republican-American.

Pomperaug High School students finished fourth among peer schools in math with 78 percent of students meeting or exceeding expectations.
