As temperatures rise into the mid-80’s in Southbury this week, local auto body shops are reminding residents to be aware of the effects the summer heat can have on their vehicles.
“The most important thing for summer driving is to check the air conditioning system for leaks and possible charging of the system,” said Classic Coach employee Slade Mongelli.
Classic Coach, which is located at 1319 Southford Road in Southbury, handles towing in the Southbury area and Mongelli says there is also a visible uptick in accidents in the summer months, due to increased summer travel and holidays.
Mongelli added good summer tires can prevent accidents in wet weather and coolant checks and flushes can prevent overheating in high temperatures.
