Southbury Resident Forms Disability Insurance Company
The launch of the Disability Insurance Company, headquartered in Shelton, CT, has been announced.

From The Disability Insurance Company: Scott Sokolowski, a resident of Southbury with 22 years of experience in financial services, has announced the launch of the Disability Insurance Company, headquartered in Shelton, CT.
“I have spent most of my career working with and knowing people who are financially successful, and I am continually struck by the fact that they usually fail to protect their incomes in case of an illness or injury,” Scott observed. “Even if they have some coverage through their employer, it usually only pays 60% of their normal salary. Our experienced team and I will serve individuals, families, entrepreneurs, executives and employees with cost-efficient solutions that are right for them.”
Earlier in his career, Scott founded a major talent recruiting firm and subsequently transferred his expertise to Barnum Financial, where he has worked for 11 years. He has won a number of industry honors, including being named to the Fairfield County Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40. In 2010 he started the non-profit Save a Suit, which has provided thousands of needy veterans and college graduates with professional business attire for job interviews. Scott is a veteran of the Air Force/Air National Guard.
