Trailer Containing Tools Worth $3K Stolen: Southbury Police

Police are asking for assistance in solving the theft.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury Police are investigating the reported theft of a trailer that contained tools valued in excess of $3,000.

At 7 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Winship Drive in Heritage Village for the complaint of a trailer that had been stolen overnight. The trailer was described as a gray Stealth C7X14SL with aluminum ladder racks and custom shelving interior, police said.

There were two older black and red paint splattered ladders attached to the ladder racks, police said. There were numerous work tools inside the trailer valued at an excess of $3,000, police said.

Neighbors told police they had heard banging and what sounded like people talking at approximately 1:15 a.m. but did not call police to investigate.

It is believed that the vehicle that stole and subsequently towed the trailer was a gas-powered truck that headed northbound on North Poverty Road, police said.
