Trio Arrested On Narcotics Charges In Southbury: State Police

During a search, troopers found cocaine in a vehicle the three were riding in.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Three people were arrested on narcotics charges Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop on I-84 westbound in Southbury, according to state police.

After spotting a Honda Ridgeline truck speeding on the thruway at about 2:30 p.m., troopers pulled it over. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 5.66 kilograms of cocaine, which was partially concealed in the back seat, state police said.

  • Joao M. Burgos- Alvarado, 30, of Waterbury
  • Maranyelis Pacheco, 29, of Waterbury
  • Cynthia I. Lacen-Pellot, 39, of Carolina, Puerto Rico

All three were released after posting bond on bails of $20,000 each, and they are scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 20.
