Trooper Wasn't Given Field Sobriety Test After Crash: Report

A mother and daughter were injured in the crash after their vehicle was pushed off the road.

SOUTHBURY, CT — State police confirmed that a sergeant who was involved in a serious crash near the Waterbury-Oxford Airport Sept. 25 wasn't given a field sobriety test.

Sgt. John McDonald didn't stop at a stop sign in his unmarked Chevrolet Impala and smashed into another car, according to the Republican-American. Mother Lisa Conroy and daughter Madison were injured and state police wouldn't comment on McDonald's injuries.

A lawyer for the Conroys is investigating whether a retirement party for state police was held at the Black Hog brewery and if McDonald attended, according to the Republican-American.
