Vehicles Burglarized Overnight In Southbury: Police
Police said a wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Southbury. Two teens were seen on video trying to open car doors, police said.
SOUTHBURY, CT — A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours in Southbury, according to police.
Police said the theft took place around 2:30 a.m. on July 21 in the area of Ridgeview Road. The stolen wallet had several credit/debit cards and ID cards in it, according to police. A second vehicle was “rifled through” at the same residence, but nothing was taken, police said.
The victim’s Ring camera showed the vehicle doors had been opened around 2:30 a.m.

“The Victim also produced Ring Camera footage that was posted from a neighbor within a mile radius from the residence showing two Juvenile males, one wearing a grey hoodie with red sweat pants and one wearing a black hoodie with red sweat pants run up to two vehicles in a driveway, pull on locked door handles, then run away,” police wrote in a news release.
The footage from the neighbor’s Ring camera was recorded around 2:45 a.m., according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Carter at the Southbury Police Department at 203-264-5912. Any tips will be kept confidential, according to police.
“Southbury Police Department urges residents to secure their vehicles at all times and advises against keeping valuables in their vehicle,” police said.
