20-Year-Old Facing Sexual Assault Charge In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 20-year-old Southington resident has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child, police said.

Auston Mongillo was charged with the crimes Dec. 7, according to an arrest report.

Court records say the "victim" was between 13 and 15.

Mongillo was briefly held on a $250,000 bond, and that was reduced to $5,000 during a court appearance later in the day, according to court records.

He made bail and is expected back in court on March 120, records show.
