3-Vehicle Crash In Southington Sends 2 To Hospitals

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A three-vehicle crash over the weekend in Southington sent two drivers to area hospitals, police said.

The crash took place at 8:24 p.m. Saturday on Meriden Waterbury Road in the area of the Interstate-84 westbound exit 28 on and off ramps, police said.

Preliminary Investigation revealed the collision involved three motor vehicles.

According to a report, Andrew Katona was operating a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and was traveling east on Meriden Waterbury Road. Brian Jankowski was operating a 2019 Volkswagon Jetta and was traveling east on Meriden Waterbury Road, police said. Dennis Brewster was operating a tractor trailer and was traveling east on Meriden Waterbury Road after exiting I-84 WB at exit 28, police said.

Katona was transported to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center by ambulance to be treated for serious injuries sustained in the collision.

Jankowski was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital by ambulance to be treated for serious injuries sustained in the collision.

Brewster was not injured, police said.
