Clemson University, Clemson SC

  • Julia A. Jackman of Southington has been named to the President's List at Clemson University. Jackman, whose major is Pre-Business, made the President's List for the fall 2019 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.
  • Three students from Southington were named to the Dean's List at Clemson University for the fall 2019 semester. They are Michael Joseph Allen, whose major is Financial Management; William Henry Barmore, whose major is Pre-Business; and Kamryn Lee Cochrane, whose major is Management. To be named to the Dean's List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Mollianne Delaney of Southington will play Marquise in the Dean College production of La Bete, beginning Thursday, February 20 through Sunday, February 23, 2020. La Bete, translates as "the beast" or "the fool" in French, and this comedy - inspired by French playwright Moliere - centers on the dueling temperaments within a court theatre troupe and its royal patrons. Set in 17th century France, our story is told in rhymed iambic pentameter and presents the overbearing actor and manager Elomire pitted against the wild and irreverent street performer Valere. The Dean College production of La Bete/ "The Beast" will take place in the Main Stage in the Campus Center at Dean College, 109 West Central Street, Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday - Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

  • Southington residents Morgan Raymond, Stephanie Zera and Juliette Lord have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of New Hampshire, Durham NH

  • A half-dozen students from Southington have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall 2019 semester: Rebecca Dorzens, earning Highest Honors and majoring in Mechanical Engineering; Aliya Sarris, earning Highest Honors and majoring in Political Science; Emily Gibney, earning High Honors and majoring in Nursing; Katie Kelley, earning High Honors and majoring in Neuroscience & Behavior; Michael Aberizk, earning High Honors and majoring in Hotel & Hospitality Management; and Marissa Robarge, earning Highest Honors and majoring in Biology. Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors.
