Bidding Process Under Way For Plantsville Pump Station

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A major construction project in Southington is going out to bid.

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Plantsville Pump Station, also known as "Rehabilitation Project 2021-01" will be entertained until April 1 town officials said.

At 11 a.m. that day, bids will be publicly opened at town hall.

The work consists of replacing a dry pit wastewater pump station with a prepackaged precast concrete submersible type pump station, installation of outdoor generator, electrical enclosures, and site features, and demolition of an above-grade building and wet well.

The estimated construction cost has not been disclosed.

A non-mandatory pre-Bid conference is slated for the site, 806 South Main St. on March 18 at 10 a.m. officials said.

The consulting engineer is Middletown-based Tighe & Bond Inc.
