Graham Nicholson, owner of the country dance club at 45 Jude Lane, said that he is doing everything he can to reopen “as soon as possible.”

“We’ve been closed since March 15 2020, because the governor refused to allow line dancing even though it is socially distanced by definition,” said Nicholson. “If we’d have stayed open we would have lost everything including the shirts on our backs. But, now, everything is really financially looking good to reopen without a problem. During the 15 months we were closed for the covid shutdown we put in all new floors and tables and did a lot of interior work; we’ll be all spruced up for when we reopen.”

Cadillac Ranch, which originally opened in 1992 in Plainville, relocated to Southington in 1997 and is known for offering country line dancing, a mechanical riding bull and American pub food. Cadillac Ranch has also hosted concerts from 180 major performing artists in the country music scene in the last 30 years.

Nicholson said that customers have been eager to see Cadillac Ranch return.

“I’ve been bombarded constantly for the past two or three months from 30 to 40 people a day telling me that they can’t wait until we’re back open,” he said. “I think we’re going to be mobbed during our first weeks open.”

Nicholson said that Cadillac Ranch has remained popular due to the unique experience it offers.

“It’s a nice, clean, family place, there’s never any trouble there, and there’s a real good friendly atmosphere,” he said. “There’s nothing like it in several hundred miles.”

When Cadillac Ranch returns, Nicholson said that a majority of staff will also be returning. However, there are a few open positions. Nicolson said that he is looking to hire cooks and encouraged those interested in applying for the position to contact him at 860-302-0559.
