Charges Filed After Knife Incident At Southington Bar: PD

A knife incident at a Southington bar led to charges being filed, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man facing several charges related to a bar altercation in Southington is due in court latest this month, police said.

After the incident at the Hollywood Bar and Lounge on Queen Street, 40-year-old Kevin Lee Bazilio, of Bristol, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, breach of peace and second-degree threatening, according to a police report.

He posted a $10,000 bond in the case and is due in court on March 23, police said.

The case dates back to Feb. 2, when police received a report about a man with a knife inside the establishment.

According to an warrant Bazilio was trying to pay his tab, but a card was not processing.

Bazilio became argumentative and was holding an open, folding knife stating, "I'll just keep stabbing," according to a warrant. After initially putting the knife away at the request of staff, Bazilio both refused to leave the establishment or to put the knife away, according to a warrant.

After finally leaving, allowing staff to lock the door, Bazilio returned a short time later and began banging on the door, prompting staff to call police. The business initially declined to have Bazilio arrested, although he was told he was not allowed to return to the property or their associated businesses, according to a warrant.

The following day, Bazilio was reported to have gone to bar's sister location, Rock Star in Wolcott, and again had to be removed from the property by police, according to a warrant. As a result of the repeated incidents, charges were files, police said.
