Community Mourning Loss of Derynoski Student

Katherine Elizabeth Dobroczynski passed away on Friday after suffering from a childhood illness. She was 10-years-old.

The loving daughter of Daniel D. and Christina (Johnson) Dobroczynski II, of Southington, Katherine was born in New Haven on Aug. 9, 2003, according to her obituary from Della Vecchia Funeral Home. She was a 5th grade student at Derynoski Elementary School.

Katherine was a member of the YMCA and was active in many before and after school programs. She loved playing golf and taking lessons at the Hawks Landing Country Club.
 
The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. A procession will take place, running from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St, Southington, to Mary Our Queen Church at 248 Savage St. in Plantsville for a Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Programs at Southington YMCA, 29 High St. in Southington, Conn., 06489.
