Man Facing Felony Charge In Southington For Gun Image Threat: PD

A man with a West Hartford address is accused of sending a gun-related threat to a Southington resident from Tolland, a report indicates.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man accused of sending threatening messages that involved an image of a gun is now facing a felony charge in Southington, police said.

Irwin Mueses, 20, whose listed address is on Trout Brook Drive in West Hartford, was charged with first-degree threatening, Class D felony in Connecticut. Moses was also charged with second-degree breach of peace, police said.

A bond of $250,000 was assigned to the case, records show.

Southington police released the details of the case Thursday.

At 8:16 a.m. on Jan. 19, Southington police went to a home on Spring Lake Road after receiving a complaint about a threatening incident, according to a report. A resident reported being threatened by Mueses, police said.

The resident said that, after Meuses received a text message from a "friend" who said had not heard from him in approximately two weeks. The resident said a message was then sent by Mueses suggesting the "friend" was interfering, according to a report.

That was on Jan. 16, according to a report. Two days later, another text was received from Mueses that said he would, "stab, slap the sh-- out of and break the face of" the friend and "make sure he won't breathe again," a report indicates.

On the same day, the resident received another text message from Mueses containing two
photos of what appear to be a black semi-automatic handgun, according to a report. The text messages following the pictures stated, according to a report, "stay away from me as possible I will shoot ya whole family with no remorse ... That's next time I see you do ya self a favor you ever see me run ... People like you get shot."

Southington police determined that both the text message and the photos originated in Tolland, according to a report.

With the assistance of state police from the Troop C barracks, Mueses was located and taken into custody in Tolland on Jan. 19, according to a report. He was transferred to Southington police headquarters that same day.
