Police Searching For Armed Man On Southington-Wolcott Line
Police Friday were searching for an armed man on the Southington-Wolcott line.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Police Friday morning were searching for a man believed to be armed and dangerous on the Southington/Wolcott line.
A large police presence was in the area of Rogers Orchards in Southington. Authorities said in a social media post they were looking for a 31-year-old "light-skinned Hispanic" man described as being 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds with dark facial hair.
An alert was sent just after 8:30 a.m.

Residents of the area were being asked to remain in their homes "unless necessary to leave," and police said anything suspicious should be reported to 911.
At 10 a.m., state police said they believe the man in question is connected with a shooting earlier in the area of Interstate-84 Westbound, at exit 26 near the Waterbury-Cheshire line.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with injuries the extent of which are "unknown."
