SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police on Monday released details on a fatal weekend crash.

On Saturday at 1:27 a.m. Southington police responded to a two-car collision on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike in the area of Orchard Lane.

An investigation determined that a 2008 BMW occupied by Vincent Fairbank, 23, of Meriden and Allissa Ducas, age 21 also of Meriden, was traveling in an easterly direction on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike when it crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a Subaru that was traveling in a westerly direction on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike, a report indicates.

After the collision, the BMW went off the roadway and overturned, according to a report.

Fairbank was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report.

Ducas sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, police said.

Toby Durgan, 63, of Southington, the driver of the Subaru, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Hospital of Central Connecticut Bradley Campus, according to a report.
