Southington Apple Harvest Fest Traffic Restrictions Posted

Southington police on Wednesday released traffic restrictions for the upcoming Apple Harvest Fesitval.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police on Wednesday released traffic restrictions for the upcoming Apple Harvest Fesitval.

The 5st version of the annual event is scheduled for Oct. 4 through 6 and Oct. 11 through 13 around the Southington Town Green. The family oriented event attracts an estimated 100,000 visitors annually.

Police said that during the festival the following roads will be posted as "No Parking" on either side of the street:

  • Academy Ln.
  • Academy St.
  • North Liberty St.
  • Vermont Ave.
  • Vermont Terr.
  • High St.
  • Hobart St.
  • Center St.
  • Center Pl.
  • Center Crt.
  • Columbus Ave.
  • Eden Ave
  • Liberty St.
  • Chestnut St.
  • Mill St. (to Water St.)
  • Berlin Ave. (from Main St to Highwood Ave.)
  • North Main St. (from Center St. to Mill St.)
  • West Center St. (from Summer St. to Howard Ave.)
  • Woodruff St. (from Berlin Ave. to Pleasant St.)

Police said on Sunday, Oct. 6 (with a rain date of Oct. 13) the following streets will be posted as "No Parking" due to the Apple Festival parade:

  • Summer St.
  • Cowles Ave.
  • Elm St.
  • Church St.
  • Beecher St.
  • Matthews St.
  • Eden Pl. West
  • Main St.
  • Bristol St.
  • Knowles Ave.
  • Chestnut St. S.
  • Center St.
  • Water St.
  • Main St.
  • Speechley Ave.
  • Prospect St. (from West St. to Summer St.)

Police said access to Cowles Avenue, Prospect Street, Summer Street, and Elm Street will be shut down at 11 a.m. on the day of the parade. The streets will be under the special parking restrictions from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the day of the parade. All violators will be subject to a $35 fine and/or towing of the vehicle, police said.
