Southington Home Wrecked By Stolen Car
Police chased down the driver of a car that crashed into a Southington home.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A stolen car rammed into a Southington home, which has since been deemed by building officials as "uninhabitable," police said Friday.
Police said the overnight crash involved a vehicle stolen from Waterbury.
According to a report, it was traveling northbound on Meriden Avenue, when it collided with the guardrail near Lewis Farms. The vehicle then crossed the southbound lane, left the road and shoulder and collided with the house at 446 Meriden Ave, according to a report.

The driver fled on foot but was apprehended on Carter Lane, police said. He sustained "obvious, incapacitating injuries" and was transported to an area hospital by ambulance, according to a report.
The passenger was also taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries, a report indicates.

The local Community Services department is providing assistance to the family.
An occupant of the home complained of pain in a leg, but refused treatment, police added.
