Southington Police Blotter: Drive Right or Pay the Price!

The following arrest information was provided by the Southington Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The police blotter this week looks a lot like a lesson in what will happen if you aren't driving appropriately: follow the rules of the road or pay the price that comes with a ticket (and in some cases a tow!)

The Southington Police Department reported the following arrests:

Dec. 12


Michael Schilling, 29, of 456 Main St. in Southington, was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to drive in proper lane and reckless driving, Dec. 12.

Omar A. Cruz, 23, of 67 Martin Luther King Drive in New Britain, was charged with failure to obey traffic control signal, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, operating a motor vehicle with tinted windows and failure to carry insurance card, Dec. 12.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Four people were cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • Three people were cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
  • Two people were cited with failure to obey stop sign/traffic signal.
  • One person was cited with failure to insure motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
  • One person was cited with unsafe backing/following too close.
  • One person was cited with failure to renew license.
