Southington Student's Term As Connecticut Kid Governor Begins
A Southington student's term as Connecticut Kid Governor has begun.
SOUTHINGTION, CT — On Thursday morning, Southington Town Council members and Connecticut Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona presented Reese Naughton with proclamations recognizing her efforts on becoming the next Connecticut Kid Governor.
The recognition took place in an outdoor, socially distanced presentation at Oshana Elementary School.
Reese's platform focuses on bringing positivity and mental health awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her three-point platform is:
- Encouraging schools to make community crates with face masks and positive messages
- Raising money for personal protective equipment in schools
- Creating care packages to brighten the lives of nursing home residents
