Southington Teen Accused Of Brawling With Police

A Southington teen is accused of fighting with the cops at a local residence.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 19-year-old Southington man remained in custody on a $75,000 bond Friday after he was charged with assaulting police four times over earlier in the week.

Maximillian Dibble was charged with four counts of assault on a public safety officer and two counts of violating a protective order.

The incident originated at a Pleasant Street residence on Monday. According to a report, Dibble was there gathering some of his belongings. When officers spoke to Dibble, he became "verbally aggressive" and, once outside, Dibble began pacing and appeared to be looking for an opportunity to run away from officers, a report indicates.

When officers attempted to handcuff Dibble, he pulled away, made fist and struck an officer in the left eye and cheek, a report indicates.

Dibble is accused of punching two other officers in the head and spitting twice in the face of a third officer.

Dibble is due back in court on Jan. 14.
