$19 Flushed Back Into Your Pocket From the Town
Town Hall meeting to discuss changes on June 10.
This year the cost of many utilities has soared across the state.
The Sewer Users Fee for homes is likely to drop this year by more than 5 percent, from $374 to $356 according to a press release from The South Windsor Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA). This is because South Windsor is using less water than previously assumed, thanks to products’ efficient use of water.
The WPCA has also announced a system of further reductions for households with an annual income of less than $45,600. Discounts will work on a sliding scale, with reductions of 45 percent for households earning less than $17,000 a year. The authority doesn’t expect the program to increase costs for other homeowners. The Town Council must pass an ordinance if the new discount program is to be enacted.
