Emerson College, Boston MA

  • Emerson College awarded more than 950 undergraduate degrees and more than 470 graduate degrees for the Class of 2021 on Sunday, May 2, at Fenway Park in Boston during its 141st commencement exercises, and virtually on Sunday, May 9. The College also honored the Class of 2020 graduates in an additional ceremony at Fenway Park on May 2. Molli DeRosa of South Windsor graduated in December 2020 and received a BS in Journalism.

Siena College, Loudonville NY

  • Katherine Molinari of South Windsor was named to the Siena College President's List for the spring 2021 semester. The President's List requires a 3.9 grade point average or higher.
  • Shannon Leary of South Windsor has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student's grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • Springfield College recognizes 14 students from South Windsor who made the Dean's List for the 2021 spring semester. The criteria for selection to the Dean's List are a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of "P" grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

  • Cindy Thompson of South Windsor was one of 21 University of Rhode Island graduating seniors who were inducted into the Rhode Island Onyx Senior Honor Society as part of the University's 24th annual Black Scholar Awards. The annual induction ceremony honors graduating seniors of African descent who achieve 3.30 or higher grade point averages.
    Established in 1998 by Donald Cunnigen, URI professor of sociology and anthropology, the annual Black Scholar Awards program recognizes African-American students for their outstanding achievements in leadership, community involvement, academic achievement, and athletic achievement.
