South Windsor Declares Emergency Due To Tropical Storm Elsa
Town Manager Michael Maniscalco issued the declaration Thursday.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Town Manager Michael Maniscalco has issued a Declaration of Emergency after recent storms, particularly Tropical Storm Elsa, which hit Connecticut Thursday and Friday.
"This will allow the town access to federal or state funds in the event that they become available," Maniscalco said in a post on the South Windsor Fire Department's Facebook page. "Additionally, it brings to bear the full resources of the town of South Windsor in order to protect life and property throughout the declared emergency period."
Maniscalco said town crews and emergency responders have dealt with more than 100 "trouble spots" throughout South Windsor over the past few days, and the next two days could bring more weather-related problems.
