SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — For more than a dozen years, South Windsor has been home to the Northeast regional headquarters and distribution center of Aldi, an international discount supermarket chain. Beginning next Thursday, March 11, the first South Windsor retail outlet for the grocery will open in a new building at 200 Gateway Blvd., directly across Buckland Rd. from the entrance to the Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk.

Aldi is noted for maintaining low prices by working with partners to curate a selection of more than 90 percent store brands, with an assortment of name brands. The new location is part of the company’s national expansion plan to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.

The new South Windsor store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
