Backing Saud Anwar for State Senate

I am supporting the candidacy of South Windsor Mayor Saud Anwar to fill the vacant seat for 3rd State Senate District (East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington and South Windsor). As a member of the Transparency Task Force created by Mayor Anwar in 2018, I saw firsthand his commitment to making government more responsive to its citizens.

The bipartisan task force, fulfilled a campaign promise to make town government more accessible and elected officials more accountable to town residents. Mayor Anwar’s leadership as chair of the task force and his pledge to increase civic participation are just two of many ways he has demonstrated the character, experience and vision needed to be the state senator from the 3rd State Senate District. I am certain that he will seek ideas from the people of the district, be our voice in Hartford, and act in the best interest of all 3rd district residents.

We are lucky to have a true leader with expertise in so many areas on the municipal, state, national and international level. Saud Anwar will be a great state senator and I encourage all voters in the 3rd State Senate District to support Anwar in the February 26th Special Election.
