‘Big Nor’easter’ in the South Windsor Forecast
The National Weather Service says an "intensifying storm" is expected to impact the area early next week and it could last awhile.

The National Weather Service has already issued a hazardous weather outlook for areas along the entire coast of Connecticut as an "intensifying storm" is expected to make its way up the East Coast this weekend.
Strong easterly winds, along with several inches of rain, will be possible Sunday night into Monday night, the National Weather Service says.
Yes, just rain. Temperatures in the upper-30s to mid-40s will keep the snow away. But the rain and wind could produce moderate coastal flooding "if the highest surge coincides with the higher of the daily astronomical high tides Monday morning or Tuesday morning," the hazardous weather outlook says.
Currently, the Hazardous Weather Outlook has only been issued for areas along the immediate coast from Greenwich to New London, but the entire state is looking at a “big nor’easter” on Monday, according to NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan

Hanrahan wrote Thursday morning, “We're watching the potential for a big nor'easter on Monday. While it's likely to produce rain and not snow we could see strong winds, coastal flooding, and heavy rain.”
In a blog post, Hanrahan writes, that as of now there is a 50-80 percent chance of more than 1 inch of rain in Connecticut. Winds will also be a concern on Monday and Tuesday. He added on Twitter that there is a “high probability of winds over 58 mph coastal Long Island by Monday - it could extend north to CT as well.”
