Businesses on Display at South Windsor Expo

Imagine taking down the walls between South Windsor businesses so business owners and employees could talk to each other and to the community. That's what happened Thursday at the Discover South Windsor Expo in the old Highland Park Market building at Evergreen Walk.

The event, hosted by the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce, aimed to show off what South Windsor has to offer while offering networking within the business community, explained Chamber President Shari Fivash.

"It's a great way for businesses to network amongst themselves and a great way for them to interact with the community," Fivash said, working her way through the Expo's crowds. "It's a huge event for us."

In addition, the event brings foot traffic to Evergreen Walk and can introduce people to businesses they might not otherwise discover.

Approximately 75 businesses had a booth at the event and Fivash estimates from previous year's totals that more than 1,000 people attended.

The event also raised money and nonperishable food items for the food and fuel bank.
