Assumption University, Worcester MA
- Gina Marie Savino, of South Windsor, was one of nearly 400 graduates to receive a bachelor's degree during Assumption University's 104th Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 9, at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester.

- Samantha Gonzalez and Lucia Palladino, both of South Windsor, achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the spring 2021 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours (exclusive of audit and pass/fail courses this semester) and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C (inclusive of audit, pass/fail courses and zero-credit courses).
Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Eastern Connecticut State University's Department of Health Sciences held its fifth annual Health Sciences Awards Ceremony on April 22. The ceremony combined the years of 2020 and 2021 and inducted 36 students into the Phi Theta Delta Honor Society, awarded 23 teaching assistants and distributed awards based on class. Among the inductees and awardees were three South Windsor residents. John Dang, a senior majoring in Health Sciences, is a 2021 inductee. Lindsay Fishman, a sophomore majoring in Health Sciences, received an Outstanding Freshmen award for allied health. Emily Garofalo, a junior majoring in Health Sciences, received a certificate of appreciation for teaching assistants. The goal of Phi Theta Delta is to provide opportunities, workshops, outreach and professional development to promote students' careers in a variety of health fields. To be eligible, students must major in health sciences, be either a junior or senior, have a minimum of 16 credits within the program and have a major GPA of 3.5.
- Eastern Connecticut State University's Mathematical Sciences Department inducted 19 students into the Connecticut Beta Chapter of the Kappa Mu Epsilon National Mathematics Honor Society (KME) on April 23. Among the students inducted was senior Peyton Moore of South Windsor, who majors in Mathematics. Established in 1931, KME recognizes students who have excelled in the field of mathematics. Eastern's Beta chapter was created in 1981. To be eligible, students must major in mathematics, have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, a major GPA of 3.3 and complete at least two 300-level mathematics courses at Eastern.
- The Political Science Department at Eastern Connecticut State University inducted 14 students into Pi Sigma Alpha, the international honor society for political science, on April 28.
Among the inductees was Kyle Garneau of South Windsor, a junior majoring in Political Science and Business Administration. To be inducted, students must have at least a junior standing with an overall 3.4 GPA, as well as a 3.2 GPA in the political science major. - Eastern Connecticut State University's Communication Department held its annual Celebration of Excellence on April 28. This event inducted 30 new students into the Lambda Pi Eta national honor society for communication and recognized additional students for excellence in radio, journalism, television, video production, research and leadership.
Among those honored was junior Corey Callahan of South Windsor, who majors in Communication. Callahan is a 2021 inductee. - Eastern Connecticut State University's Psychological Science Department held its Psi Chi Induction Ceremony and Honors Recognition on April 30. Combining the years of 2020 and 2021, the ceremony inducted 53 students into the Psi Chi International Honor Society for Psychology and recognized 18 students for distinction. Among the honorees were three South Windsor residents. Megan Avery, who majors in Psychology, was inducted and received highest distinction in 2020. Abigail Bourdon, who majors in Early Childhood Education and Psychology, was a 2020 inductee. Lexi Dickstein, who majors in Psychology, is a 2021 inductee.
- Eastern Connecticut State University's English Department recognized students at its semesterly English Night awards ceremony on May 6. At the conclusion of the fall semester in December 2020, the English Department inducted students into the Sigma Tau Delta honor society. Among the students was Sarah Poinelli of South Windsor, a junior majoring in English. Poinelli was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta. In order to be inducted into the honor society, students must have at least a 3.5 GPA in the English major, as well as an overall GPA of at least 3.0. They are also required to have completed at least four courses within the English major, and receive nominations from two faculty members.
Emerson College, Boston MA

- Members of Emerson College's senior class were selected for its Purple Key Leadership Society, and recognized during the annual Emerson Recognition and Achievement (ERA) Awards ceremony on April 9. Among the inductees was South Windsor native Molli Derosa. The recipients of this prestigious honor demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, a strong commitment to civic engagement, and solid academic achievement. Derosa is a member of the class of 2021 with a major in Journalism.
Lebanon Valley College, Annville PA
- Madison Donahue, of South Windsor, is being recognized by Lebanon Valley College as part of the successful staff of the student newspaper, La Vie Collegienne. Donahue is a graduate of South Windsor High School and is pursuing a bachelor of arts in self-designed at The Valley. Donahue held the position of staff writer.
Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH
- Jillian Perra and Matthew Bettencourt, both of South Windsor, were named to the winter 2021 President's List. The winter term runs from January to May. Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.
University of Tampa, Tampa FL
- Michael Kostantakis, of South Windsor, graduated from the University of Tampa on Saturday, May 8. Kostantakis graduated with a Bachelor of Science - B.S. Degree in Management.
