Car Takes Out Utility Pole In South Windsor
A car took out a utility pole early on New Year's Day in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A single-car crash early on New Year's Day left a utility pole in shambles and a man with a drunken driving charge, police said.
The crash took place at 2:27 a.m. Wednesday on Chapel Road near Ellington Road, according to a report. Police said a car driven by Ronald Wells, 28, of Vernon, went off the road and struck a utility pole.
Power weas briefly out in the neighborhood while the pole was replaced, police said.
