Coronavirus South Windsor: Declaration Of Emergency Issued
A local resident has been identified as a presumptive positive for the coronavirus, town officials said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor has issued a declaration of emergency and public health emergency after being informed by the state health department and the CDC that a local resident has been identified as a presumptive positive case for the coronavirus.
In the declaration it states, "Be it declared that the Town of South Windsor is under a public health emergency until this threat is mitigated and will be taking every effort to ensure the safety of all residents."
Town Manager Michael Maniscalo said the declaration will allow the town to seek reimbursement for costs associated with COVID-19 in the event this is identified as a federal emergency.

"Currently, the Town is aware of one presumptive positive case of COVID-19 and one other case of self-quarantine with no symptoms. A presumptive positive case means that the individual is showing symptoms of COVID-19, is in quarantine but has not been tested.
