Dzen Tree Farm Progressing Toward Opening for Christmas Season

The South Windsor farm was closed for last year's Christmas tree shopping season.

The Dzen Tree Farm updated its customers over the weekend that it is making progress in building its new access road as it looks to reopen for the upcoming Christmas tree season.

The farm closed for the season last year after it was denied use of the traditional entry point used by customers due to a new home development that was being built on Blue Spruce Road.

Owner John Dzen Jr. posted an update on Facebook on Sunday, saying that they have been “building our driveway on our land in anticipation of getting all the necessary permits and approvals.”

We have had a very busy week. For the past several weeks, we have been building our driveway on our land in anticipation of getting all the necessary permits and approvals. In the background of the photo, you can see the driveway taking shape. On Wednesday 10/7/2015, we received approval for our wetlands crossing for our driveway. In the foreground of the photo, you can see the beginning of our wetlands crossing. On Friday 10/9/2015, we signed the paperwork for the land swap that planning and zoning approved. We received a 2 acre parcel that will allow us to finish our driveway. So now we are in full-on road mode. Have you ever purchased one cubic yard of soil to work in your yard? We are estimating that we have moved over 25,000 cubic yard of soil so far. We need to recognize the hard work of our dear friend and lawyer, John Bond. He has been the driving force behind all the recent progress in the permits, approvals and land swap paperwork. It is because of his persistence that we have made more progress in the last two weeks than we have made in the last two months. Thank you, John. In the near future, we will be making some exciting new announcements about the fast approaching christmas tree season. Thanks. John Dzen, Jr.
