Fiber Optic Work Could Cause Traffic Delays In South Windsor
Contractors will soon begin work to install fiber optic lines in South Windsor.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Over the next few weeks multiple contractors will begin work to install fiber optic lines in underground conduits in northern parts of South Windsor, police said Friday.
The lines will support a new 5G network and will extend into East Windsor, Ellington, Vernon and Manchester.
Police said Motorists in the area of Griffin Road should be "cautious" and expect possible delays from the Griffin Road Railroad tracks to the East Windsor line, police said.

Work to install conduit and fiber cable along Rye Street, Windsorville Road and Griffin Road is alo on tap. Motorists should expect contractor and construction vehicles on the roadway and on the shoulder of the road, which may cause congestion and reduce sight lines, police said.
All roads will remain open to traffic during the project. Flaggers or police officers wiull be directing traffic around the work areas.
